- Additional lenses are available for the SLC110, SLC-115,
SLC1041, and SLC120 cameras. Lens selection is based on the required field of view of the
area under surveillance. As shown in the table below, the larger the lens' focal length (4
to 12mm), the closer the view. A wide angle lens is supplied with each camera sold. New
lenses are easily installed.

- Example: If a camera is mounted on a wall in the center of a
room that is 10' wide, 10' deep' and has an 8' ceiling, a 4mm wide angle lens will view
all of the opposite wall from the floor to the ceiling. A 12mm lens in the same room will
give a 'tighter' view of the opposite wall, and show an area only 3.5' wide and 2.8' tall.
Because the image of the 12mm lens is larger, more detail will be shown. Most applications
normally require a lens to supply a wider coverage area than high detail of a smaller
area. A application of an 8 or 12mm lens would be to monitor a cash register or for
monitoring an area a long distance from the camera.
