Calculate the lens requirements for your
surveillance application
-
- 1. To find the
focal length of the lens you need, enter the target
distance of the object to be viewed, and
the required field of view
H (horizontal) x V (vertical).
Example: The item to be viewed is a entry door 20' away, and a
10'x10' field of view is desired. The calculated result is a 7.2mm
lens. Either the H or V may change to fit the viewing format.
2. To find the field of view you can expect with a
specifc focal length
lens, enter the distance
to the object to
be viewed, and focal length of the
lens. Example:
A 4mm lens is on the camera and it is 30' away. The calculated
results for the FOV are 36' x27'

- NOTE: The
calculator assumes a 1/3" imager is in use.
